PEROXAN PK295 P is used for the curing of unsaturated polyester resins at elevated temperatures.
PEROXAN PK295 P is preferred for the curing of UP resin based hot press moulding formulations in the temperature range from 120° to 170°C.
The stability of this peroxyketal in an UP resin is hardly influenced by the presence of metal accelerators, pigments or fillers. PEROXAN PK295 P is therefore very suitable for pigmented and non-pigmented hot press moulding formulations where a long shelf life of the compound is required.
Depending on working conditions, the following peroxide dosage level is recommended:
PEROXAN PK295 P: 2,0 to 3,0 phr
PEROXAN PK295 P is recommended for the crosslinking of NBR, SBR, EP(D)M, LDPE and EVA.
Rubber compounds containing PEROXAN PK295 P have excellent scorch safety.
Safe processing temperature (t2): 115°C
Typical crosslinking temperature (t90): 145°C
The safe processing temperature t2 is defined as the temperature, at which the scorch time is longer than 20 minutes. The typical crosslinking temperature t90 is defined as the temperature at which 90% of the crosslinks in the compound are formed within about 12 minutes.
